Master Gardeners present: How to grow orchids

Orchids are beautiful, fragrant, have long-lasting blooms, and make excellent indoor plants. They are also easy to grow. Learn what to do and also how to avoid some common gardening mistakes. This event, presented by Harris County Master Gardener Elizabeth Fisher, takes place on Saturday, March 3 at 10:30 a.m.

The Texas AgriLife Extension Service and the Harris County Master Gardeners are pleased to offer the Green Thumb Gardening Series of lectures at the Freeman Library from January to October of 2017. Lectures will be held on the third Thursday of every month on a variety of topics. These Lectures are FREE.

This month's topic of discussion will be "Fall Vegetables" on Thursday, 8/17 at 6:30 pm in the first floor Community Room. The Friends of Freeman Library support the Green Thumb Lecture Series.

Green Thumb Gardening Series

The Texas AgriLife Extension Service and the Harris County Master Gardeners are pleased to offer the Green Thumb Gardening Series of lectures. These are free lectures that cover an array of topics. All lectures will be located in our Earl Elliott Meeting Room on a Thursday evening from 6:30pm-8:30pm. There is no registration for this event.

Harris County Master Gardeners - Container Gardening Program May 13th at 10:30am

Container gardens are the perfect way to liven up your front entrance, create a small herb garden or soften the look of your deck, porch or patio. They can provide instant color in drab areas, and you can create your own mini-garden in an hour or less. Best of all, they’re easy to care for and maintain. Harris County Master Gardener Kathy Keeney will  present a program focused on Container Gardening.  The Harris County Master Gardeners are a volunteer arm of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.
