Kids Get Healthy at the North Channel Library

hcphesStarting this Friday, July 8th, the North Channel Library is partnering with Harris County Public Health & Environmental Services (HCPHES) for a free healthy living program for children, We Can! (Ways to Enhance Children's Activity & Nutrition). We Can! is a National Institutes of Health educational program designed to give parents, caregivers, and entire communities a way to help children and adolescents learn about choosing healthy food and increasing physical activity all while having fun! Healthy snacks will be provided and there will be chances to win awesome prizes!

We invite you to participate in this fun, interactive program at the library on the following Fridays: July 8, July 15, July 22, July 29 and August 5th from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm. You must attend the first program on July 8th to register. The program is aimed at parents and children ages 5-18.

Eat, Play, Grow at North Channel!

hcphesHarris County Public Health & Environmental Service (HCPHES) is partnering with North Channel Library during our Preschool Storytime to bring you Eat, Play, Grow, a nutrition and physical activity education program for parents and children. Kids and families will learning about choosing healthy foods, increasing physical activity, and having fun!

Registration will be April 5th at 1:30 and sessions will be held once a week from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.

Let the Fun Continue!

The end of the Summer Reading Program is near; don't forget to log your books and pick up the great prizes that you have earned!  The last day to log your reading is on Saturday: August 10th.

I want to thank everyone who has participated in our reading program this summer.  It has been so wonderful to see all of our friends and to assist you with finding books. However, the fun doesn't stop there because we have great programs for children of all ages throughout the year.
