Hispanic Heritage Month 3-D Printing Demonstration

All Kids in grades 2-7 are invited to our Hispanic Heritage Month celebration on Oct. 4 at 4:30 pm.  We’ll be having a 3-D printer demonstration and the kids will be able to decorate a 3-D

printed sugar skull keychain. Registration is required. Call 713-466-4438 for more information.

 

Change in Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration on Thursday, September 28

   Unfortunately, the 7 pm performance by Nueva Luna Ballet Folkorico has been cancelled.  However, we will have crafts, activity sheets, books, and music at 6:30 pm.   Tickets will be distributed at 6:00 pm

Adults - Friday, 9/29 - The TGIF Programs Friday Film Series returns @ 10:15 AM

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, we look forward to showing a 2001 film based on the Julia Álvarez work of historical fiction. This film stars Salma Hayak, Lumi Cavazos, and Edward James Olmos.

This free event requires no registration. The Friends of Freeman Library provide the film, refreshments, and support for this TGIF Programs' event. After this event, the DVD of the film will be added to the HCPL collection. Country Club: Brazil

Join our library “Country club” and we will “travel” to a different country each month to sample food, culture, games and more!
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we will stamp our passports in Brazil!

Time: 4:00-5:00 p.m.

This program is for grades 1-5 and kindergartners with an adult.

Space is limited. Please arrive early to ensure participation.
Registration for after-school programs opens 30 minutes prior to the program.

Family Hispanic Heritage Celebration

In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month the South Houston Library will be having a family celebration on Monday, Sept. 25, 2017 from 4:30 pm- 6:30 pm. Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

Harris County Public Library is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a variety of programs and events. Join and you will go all over the Hispanic world including Ecuador, Guatemala & Puerto Rico. You will do traditional crafts, but also go high-tech with 3D printed 'sugar' skulls. Enjoy music, food & more! Click here to see some of what we have in store.

Kid's Hispanic Heritage Craft

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month this Wednesday, September 20 at 4:30pm with a Kid's Craft after school! We will be creating Dia de los Muertos themed collages-all materials supplied of course. Crosby Book Club Meeting Friday, September 15 @ 2 pm

Crosby Branch Book Club will meet Friday, September 15 at 2 pm.  In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, we will discuss Lucky Boy by Shanthi Sekaran.  From rural Oaxaca Mexico, to Berkeley California and Silicon Valley, this timely story invites readers to think more deeply about the evolution of the American Dream, the dilemma of immigration, and the borders of love.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month @ HCPL

September 15 - October 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month, and Harris County Public Library is celebrating with a variety of programs for adults, teens, and kids. We'll have music ranging from Spanish classical to Tejano. We'll have food and crafts reflecting the kaleidoscopic diversity of Hispanic culture. We'll have movies and story times and, of course, we will celebrate the greatest gift of all: chocolate!
