Remember Hurricane Ike? Harris County Homeland Security and Emergency Management, in conjunction with LSC-Tomball Community Library, is hosting a one-session workshop this Saturday to help you get ready for hurricane season. Learn how to make a disaster preparedness kit and the steps you need to take to be informed and prepare your family for disaster. This is a family friendly event and there will be free giveaways! That's this Saturday, April 6, at 11 a.m. in the Children's Meeting Room.

Hurricane season is here, are you ready? We will be hearing from the Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management next Tuesday at 6:30 PM.  Join us as we get evacuation tips and find out if your disaster emergency kit is good enough.  Topics will include what you can do before the season start to prepare your home, what needs to be done when the storm is on it’s way, how to survive during the storm, and what needs to be done during the aftermath.  Hurricane Season is now!  Procedures for hurricane safety will be presented by the Office of Emergency Management on Wednesday, Sept. 2nd at 3:00 pm.  Question and answer period to follow.


Hurricanes, Here We Come!

We will have a guest speaker on the topic of general hurricane preparedness, and there will also be a time for question and answer (Q&A).  To do more research on your own, check out this website - which is Harris County's Office of Emergency Management & Homeland Security.
