New to using an iPad? Want to learn the basics?

On Friday, May 4 at 1:00 p.m we will be offering "iPad Basics" for the beginner.  To register for this free class held in our Computer Lab, stop by the Adult Services information desk or call the library @ 281-360-6804.

Something New But It's Not Blue

Technology is here to stay. It has invaded our world of sanity and it is forever changing and evolving. It is called the I Pad. You have your device and you think it is nice but; are you having difficulty? Want to know what all I can do with it? Where are the free apps? Well, a series of seminars will be given in the month of October, here at northwest. They are to bring clarity and to help you enjoy your IPad better. Seminars will be each Saturday at 1:00 PM starting October 6, 2012. Bring your IPad, and if you don’t have; one will be provided. Flyers are in the library or you can ask our staff. 

Game Day Frenzy Update

The end of summer is rapidly approaching!  For those who haven’t been able to make it to a Game Day Frenzy, August 6th will be your last chance.  It will be held in the meeting room from 4:30-5:30 pm.  All are welcome so stop on by and play some games.  Have any suggestions for cool ipad games?  Write a comment and let me know.
 

eBooks & More @ Your Library!

Adults, join us in the Computer Lab at 1 pm this Wednesday August 1st, to explore the HCPL digitial media catalog. You will also learn how to download eMedia to your iPad, Nook or Kindle. If you have an eReader, please bring it to class with you. If you don't have an eReader, the Galena Park Library eReaders will be available for sharing among class members during the computer class.  Library cards are required for this class. Come any Saturday and talk to our eBook experts, Chris and Gwendolyn. Bring your device and we will help you set it up and show you how to use our collection! Times for one-on-one tutoring are 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM! If you don't own a device and just want to see how they work, come on in and we'll show you that, too!
