Getting Ready for Income Tax Time

It’s that time of year again, the time for gathering together everything needed to prepare your income taxes--forms, instructions, and even advice or assistance.  Income tax forms and instructions should be arriving at the library sometime within the next month; however there are many other helpful resources, some of which are already available.  Printable forms, electronic filing information, and more can be found at IRS.GOV.  Free tax preparation will be provided at Fairbanks by the AARP on Saturdays 10 am-2 pm, and Mondays and Thursdays 1 pm-5 pm from February 1 through April 14.  More information, including additional locations and a list of what documents to bring with you, is provided at

Would You Like Help With Your Taxes?

Do you dread having to do your taxes? Need Help?

Each week through April 15th, AARP will be here on Mondays to assist tax filers with electronic tax returns. You do not have to be an AARP member to benefit from this program. In fact, it is free to to anyone needing assistance with most standard tax return filings.

The program begins at 10:00 am and will run through 2:00 pm. Please be aware that it is offered as a first come first served basis, and make sure to bring appropriate documents.
