Monday at The Little Blue Library

Today is Monday, Nov 12, and we will have another busy day at Baldwin Boettcher’s Little Blue Library.  At 10:30 am we have Story Time in the Gardens.  It is for ages 2 to 6 years old and will take place under the Tree House.  This week’s theme is “Leaves”.  Then at 4 pm we will have “DIY Wizard Hats” for children and tweens ages 6 to 11 years.

This Week @ The Little Blue Library

This week at The Little Blue Library, we have a lot in store for you.  On Monday, Sept 17, we will have Storytime in the Gardens.  The subject this week will be “weather”.  On Monday evening @ 6 pm, we will have ESL with our beloved Cindy.  It will take place at The Mercer Botanic Center on 22540 Aldine Westfield Rd.  For more information on the location, please call Cindy at 832-927-5480.   It is a level 1 class and free.   No registration is necessary.  On Wednesday, Sept 19, we will have Spin-a-Yarn @ 11 am.  If you like to knit, crochet, sew, craft, or chat, then this is the group for you!  It will also take place at The Mercer Botanic Center on 22540 Aldine Westfield Rd.  For

Today is Monday and we have our Story time in the Garden at 10:30 am.  Today the subject is Animal Paws.  It will be under the Tree House.  At 4 pm will be our kids program making Teleidocopes.  Yes, you read that correctly. TELEIDOSCOPE.  This will be for ages 6 to 11 and will take place under the Tree House.  Tonight at 6 pm, we will have ESL with our beloved Cindy.  It will take place at the Mercer Botanic Center.  The address there is, 22540 Aldine Westfield Rd. Programs This Week @ The Little Blue Library

Monday, August 20, we will have Story Time in the Gardens at 10:30 am.  The subject this week will be “squirrels”. It will take place under the tree house, and the age group it is for is 2 to 6 years old.   In the afternoon, we will have a program for kids and tweens ages 6 – 11 for Ocean in a Bottle.  Join us as we use science to make an ocean in a bottle with oil and water.  If you are wondering which one we will need more of?   Come join us and find out!  Then we will have an adult program at 6 pm.  It is English as a Second Language (ESL) taught by our beloved Cindy.  That class is located at the Mercer Botanic Center right down the road at 22540 Aldine Westfield Rd.

Big Things Still Going On for BB @ Mercer

This week at the Little Blue Library at Mercer Botanic Gardens there will still be lots in store for you.  Monday is Story Time in the Gardens at 10:30 am.  The subject this week is misbehaving animals.  Spin-a-Yarn will be meeting at 3 pm on the west side of Mercer Botanic Gardens in the Pole Barn.  If you like to knit, crochet, sew or create in any way, come join us!  At 6 pm, there will be ESL with Cindy on the west side of Mercer Botanic Gardens as well.  No registration is necessary and it is free.  There will be Kids Café’ Monday through Friday from noon to 1 pm.  Wednesday the kids program will be a high-energy urban dance show called Ondilove, followed by a workshop where kids will learn some of the dance moves.  Thursday is teen day, and

The Big Things The Little Blue Library Has Going On This Week

It is another big and busy week for the Little Blue Library at Mercer Botanic Gardens.  Monday is Story Time in the Gardens at 10:30 am.  The subject this week is flowers.  There will be Kids Café again this week Monday through Friday from noon to 1 pm.   Wednesday the kids program will be a story from Africa about a lonely girl who magically transforms cooking gourds into her friends.  This is for ages 5 to 12 years old.  On Thursday, we will have our continuation of 7 continents 7 instruments.  This week is Antarctica, and this one is all about nature.  Create your own instrument from what you find around you!  Then, last but not least, we will have our Family Friday where you can play Pokémon Go and Geocaching with the whole family from 9 am to 3 pm. 

This Week was Great at The Little Blue Library

This week was an exciting week for both staff, and wonderful patrons of The Little Blue Library.  Monday we had Story Time in the Gardens.  On Kids Wednesday, we had Story Time Opera @ 10:30 am.  The talented Sandra Campbell performed Muncha Muncha Muncha and it was a big hit with the kids!  For Teen Thursday @ 1:30 pm, we made an instrument from North America called the “Ugly Stick”, and they turned out so cool!  Friday is our Family Day and from 9 am to 3 pm, the whole family can come for Pokemon Go and Geocaching.  If you do not know what Geocaching is, you are not alone.  Come by the Little Blue Library and find out.  You will learn something new, and have a whole lot of fun in the process!
