This Summer at the Little Blue Library

Today is Monday, June 3rd and the Baldwin Boettcher Library has two great summer programs starting.  Our annual Summer Reading Program and Summer Feeding Program called Kid’s Café will begin for the surrounding community.   The Summer Reading Program explores a Universe of Stories to celebrate summer, the joys of reading and the upcoming 50th anniversary of the first moon landing!  It is for the whole family, and has goals, incentives and programs for everyone – babies, kids, teens and adults.  You can earn points toward incentives by attending library events and going fun activities.  We hope you will register now!  We also will be providing free and healthy meals with our Kid’s Café daily (Monday through Friday) from noon to 1 pm for children of all

Monday at the Little Blue Library

Today is Monday, March 18th and the Baldwin Boettcher Branch Library has several programs in store for you.  First at 10:30 am we will have Story Time in the Gardens.  For ages 2 to 6 years old.  A craft will be done after the story. It will take place under the Tree House.   Then at 4 pm we will have a Library Card Holder craft for ages 6 to 11 years old.  It will also take place under the Tree House.  Do you have a library card?  Great!

Today is Monday, Feb 4th, and we have two kid programs in store for you.  First at 10:30 am we have our Story Time in the Gardens.  It takes place under the Tree House, and is for ages 2 to 6 years.  The story will be followed by a craft.  Then later at 4 pm we will have Nature Bookmarks.  Today is Monday, Jan 28th and we have two kids programs for you today.  First at 10:30 am we have our Story Time in the Garden.  It is for ages 2 to 6 years of age.  There will be a craft following the story.  It will take place under the Tree House.  Then we will have our Tween Readers Club at 4 pm.  It is for ages 9 to 12 years, and we will be discussing this month’s book, Amal Unbound.  We will also have some delicious treats while we are there.  It will also take place under the Tree House.  Come join us!

Today is Monday, Jan 14, and Baldwin Boettcher Library is having 2 kid programs for you at the Little Blue Library.  First at 10:30 am we have our Story Time in the Gardens.  There will be a craft at the end.  Later at 4 pm we will have Make a Dragon Egg.  This program is for kids ages 6 to 11 years.  We will make fantasy a reality for the wee little dragon lovers out there.  We will be making dragon eggs out of clay jewels and other items that naturally exist on dragon’s eggs.  It will take place under the Tree House at 4 pm.   So come join us!  To see what other programs we have, check our events calendar at hcpl.net, or just come by and see us at the Little Blue Library at Mercer Botanic Gardens. 

Monday at The Little Blue Library

Today is Monday, Nov 12, and we will have another busy day at Baldwin Boettcher’s Little Blue Library.  At 10:30 am we have Story Time in the Gardens.  It is for ages 2 to 6 years old and will take place under the Tree House.  This week’s theme is “Leaves”.  Then at 4 pm we will have “DIY Wizard Hats” for children and tweens ages 6 to 11 years.

This Week @ The Little Blue Library

This week at The Little Blue Library, we have a lot in store for you.  On Monday, Sept 17, we will have Storytime in the Gardens.  The subject this week will be “weather”.  On Monday evening @ 6 pm, we will have ESL with our beloved Cindy.  It will take place at The Mercer Botanic Center on 22540 Aldine Westfield Rd.  For more information on the location, please call Cindy at 832-927-5480.   It is a level 1 class and free.   No registration is necessary.  On Wednesday, Sept 19, we will have Spin-a-Yarn @ 11 am.  If you like to knit, crochet, sew, craft, or chat, then this is the group for you!  It will also take place at The Mercer Botanic Center on 22540 Aldine Westfield Rd.  For

TELEIDOSCOPE.  This will be for ages 6 to 11 and will take place under the Tree House.  Tonight at 6 pm, we will have ESL with our beloved Cindy.  It will take place at the Mercer Botanic Center.  The address there is, 22540 Aldine Westfield Rd. Programs This Week @ The Little Blue Library

Monday, August 20, we will have Story Time in the Gardens at 10:30 am.  The subject this week will be “squirrels”. It will take place under the tree house, and the age group it is for is 2 to 6 years old.   In the afternoon, we will have a program for kids and tweens ages 6 – 11 for Ocean in a Bottle.  Join us as we use science to make an ocean in a bottle with oil and water.  If you are wondering which one we will need more of?   Come join us and find out!  Then we will have an adult program at 6 pm.  It is English as a Second Language (ESL) taught by our beloved Cindy.  That class is located at the Mercer Botanic Center right down the road at 22540 Aldine Westfield Rd.
