The Longhorns are Coming

Did you know that the Texas Longhorn is the official "Large Mammal" for the state of Texas? Did you know that theTexas Longhorn almost became extinct ? Join us Tuesday, August 9 from 2:30-4:30 pm (in the Diana Lane side of the parking lot)  for a round-up of fun facts and lore about Texas Longhorn Cattle.  Cindy and Robert Schnuriger will bring animals such as Texas Longhorn cattle, a horse, and donkey to show the importance of these animals to Texas history.

Honey Dew the Clown

Honey Dew the Clown will be at the Library next Wednesday, July 6, at 3 PM.  She brings a great mix of magic, silliness and some furry friends to entertain us.  Join us for a fun program and check out books on magic, clowns or whatever tickles your fancy !

Magic at the West U Library

Our summer programs started off with an exciting magic show featuring local magician, Steve Burton.  The audience was amazed by the fabulous "How'd he do that?"  tricks. We were fortunate to have the program at the newly renovated senior center next door to the Library.  Their auditorium accomodates large crowds.

All Library  programs are free and are listed on the West U Library website.  Calendars are also available at the Library.

Visit the Library website at www.hcpl.net to sign up for the summer reading program.  Children who read [or have read to them] 10 picture books - or read on their own for 5 hours or 500 minutes - will receive a free paperback book, a certificate and a food coupon from a local restaurant.
