This Thursday--Learn how to use your Device for eBooks!

Have a digital device? Come learn how to check out library eBooks and eAudiobooks to your device, including Kindles, Nooks, iPads, Android devices, smartphones, and computers. The beginning of the class explains the library’s Digital Media Catalog and the second portion focuses on getting those books onto your device. If you have a digital device, be sure to bring it for the hands on portion of the class. Class will be held on Thursday, October 1st from 2-4 pm at the LSC-Tomball Community Library in the second floor computer lab, Room L 216. For more information, call 832-559-4200.

 

 

eBooks and More with Your Kindle, Nook or iPad

Did you know that in addition to the vast collection of physical books and CDs, the Harris County Public Library has books, audiobooks and music available online?  If you have not yet checked out an item using your new (or maybe not-so-new) gadget, the library staff at Spring Branch-Memorial will be offering a help session on Friday, January 31st, from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm.  The workshop will cover downloading materials onto your Kindle, Nook or iPad.

eBooks on your Digital Device

Are you wondering whether to buy a Kindle or an iPad so you can read electronic books from the library? Are you having trouble downleading library books to your Nook? Come to the EBooks on your Digital Device class this Wednesday, October 16, from 2-4 p.m. in the Computer Lab, room R-216 and get your problems solved by our inimitable electronic books guru, librarian Cathy Clark.

Kindle, Nook, IpadBring your Nook, Kindle or Ipad and learn to download free library ebooks to your device.  When: Friday, January 25, 2:00pm.  Suggested age: Adult.

Help for new owners of Electronic Reading Devices

Electronic reading and listening devices are big on Santa’s list these days. If you received one or thought you’d like to buy one with gift money you received, we have classes here this month to help you discover and  learn to download electronic library books. All classes will take place in the computer lab on the second floor, Room L 216.


Nook Session: This Saturday, January 5, from 2-4 pm the class will focus on how to use a Nook.

Overview Class: Next Wednesday, January 9th, 2-4 pm, we’ll be offering an overview class in using iPads, Kindles, and Nooks (and lesser-known devices.)

iPad Session: Saturday, January 12th, 2-4 pm. The class will focus on using the Apple iPad and its library apps.

Kindle Session: Saturday, January 19, 2-4 pm, as you guessed, is for Kindle users.

Tech Tutors: On Monday and Tuesday, January 14th and 15th, two of our techie library staff will be available in the main floor of the library, at the circular table just inside the entrance, to answer your random questions. Bring your device with you and get past that problem you haven't been able to solve!

Friends of the Library Drawing Winner
