Latin dance

Fiesta! Fiesta! THIS Saturday!

Dance!Don't miss the Fiesta! THIS Saturday, come one, come all! Starting at 11:30 AM, we will have fun for the whole family right in the lobby of the LSC-Tomball Community Library! There will be two (count 'em two) dance troupes coming to perform various traditional dances from all over South America. Enjoy the many colors as they dance in full regional costume. Also, the music of April Zuniga, locally famed guitarist and singer, will add to your listening enjoyment! Food, fun and crafts for all! Baile!

Mambo, Merengue & Cha Cha, Oh My!

Last week's Latin Dance Demonstration was a success - check out my attempt at merengue with coworker Nancy Rodriguez!  I didn't fall down and consider that a great success.  Gene McEwen and Kelly Felix explained the history of several types of Latin dance.  They followed up with demonstrations of the dances, accompanied by two couples who are students of Kelly's.  We also enjoyed chips, salsa and iced tea provided by the Friends of Freeman Library along with sopapillas provided by Casa Olé!

Latin Dance Demonstration
