LGBTQIA Picture Books

Last week I posted about Pride Month and gave some recommendations for diverse young adult reads. This week we’re continuing the celebration by looking at some picture books that help bring LGBTQIA representation to our shortest shelves and youngest readers. These books are kind, funny, and heart-warming in turn. They're also really great for story time.

LGBTQIA Proud

June is Pride Month, a time dedicated to celebrating the impact that LGBTQIA individuals have had and continue to have on our world. In the book world, it's still sometimes hard to find yourself in the pages if you identify as something other than straight, and while, thankfully, some orientations have become more prominent on our shelves, others haven't been given the opportunity. We all want to see ourselves in the books we read, and the need for diverse books is real and important. Here are ffiteen books that celebrate being LGBTQIA in humorous, heartfelt and honest ways-from L to A.
