Pogue's Basics: LifeHave you heard of Pogue's Basics? They're handy little books from David Pogue that fill in all the blanks of what you've learned in your life. One of them is all about technology and has handy tips that even one of our Technology Trainers didn't know. I recently read the one about life, and I'm using several of his tips now on a daily basis. If I wasn't a know-it-all before, I definitely am now!

The Book of Awesome will help change that.  This collection by Neil Pasricha is a celebration of the small things that can make us smile, like licking the batter off of the beaters of a cake mixer, the smell of books, and when you get the milk-to-cereal ratio just right. Each entry has a witty write-up explaining why each moment can be considered awesome. 

Immersion Journalism

Want to know what it's like living in unique or unusual circumstances? A form of writing called immersion journalism can give you a sense of living that different life. In this book genre, the author puts him or herself into a unique situation and writes about the experience from a personal point of view. Some situations are serious while others are silly.
