Read Local With Our Local Literary Festival & Market, Saturday at Maud Marks

It’s the Holiday Season!  Maud Marks Library wants to help out with your last minute gift shopping.  Do you have a relative you just can’t think about what to buy them?  Do you have a child who would give anything for a new book?  We have you covered with our 3rd annual Local Literary Festival and Market on December 3 at 12:30-4:30.

Local Author Celebration

Join us this Saturday, 6/20 at 10:30 a.m. in the Community Room for our Local Author Celebration.  We'll begin the day with the "Memories to Memoirs" workshop presented by Dion McInnis, followed by a brief introduction to resources available at the library for authors.

Freeman Library Celebrates Local Authors

As Clear Lake City-County Freeman Branch Library continues to celebrate our 50th anniversary, we’ll also be celebrating our local authors on Saturday, 8/23

Interested in becoming an author yourself?  Panel discussions and presentations by local authors are on the schedule and cover topics such as, “Finding Your Own Voice”, “What’s new in Publishing/Self-Publishing” and “How I Got Published” just to name a few.

Want to learn more about our local authors?  Sixteen are scheduled to appear, among them poets, children’s authors, science fiction authors, historical fiction authors, romance authors and more.  Including author readings and book signings, you will also have a chance to meet some of them by visiting the author tables set up around the library.
