Adults - Friday, 11/10 @ 2 PM - Color Me In - Relax & Have Fun with Butterflies for Citizenship Month!

In Honor of Houston's Citizenship Month, join us in some relaxing Butterfly Coloring for Adults. We will have coloring sheets to color and take home. Pencils and crayons will be available to use while here. (Feel free to to bring your own.) Supplies are provided by the Friends of Freeman Library.

"Making" Progress at HCPL

Many visitors at the recent Houston Maker Faire were surprised and excited to learn that more HCPL branch locations are offering 3D printers and laser cutters for public use.  You may have noticed the "Maker Central" banner on the main library webpage - this is the name we've given to our expanding services.  By following the link from the main page, you can learn more about the machines available for use including 3D printers, laser cutters, a CNC mill and vinyl cutters.  You can sign up for a Maker Central account and start earning badges to gain use privileges by attending orientation classes for these tools.

3D Printing at North Channel

3D PrintingNorth Channel Branch Library is excited to announce that we now offer 3D printing services at the library. We will host our first orientation class on November 6, 2017 at 6:00 PM in the Computer Lab.
This orientation session will introduce participants to 3D printing services in the library. Those completing the class will then be able to schedule time to use the printer after receiving hands-on training.
Class size is limited. Recommended for ages 8 - adult. Participants under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult/guardian. Call the Library to register. 281-457-1631

Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for these "makers" to show hobbies, experiments, projects.
