Calling Artists!

Hello, Artists of Tomball and environs! As you can see from this photograph of one side of our large meeting room, we offer a free place for artists to hang your art. Yes, you can book a place and exhibit your 2-dimensional works for a month--for FREE--at the library. We have spots open for 2016, so if you'd like to reserve a place for your paintings or sketches, call Barbara Mitchell at 832-559-4233 during library hours for details!

Ellen Scott Exhibiting in Room L-129

This month’s artist exhibitor is Ellen Scott, whose pastel sketch, "Reflections," to the left here is one of five pieces you can see in our Meeting Room gallery.  Ellen is a versatile local artist who works in pastels, pen and ink, colored pencils, and pencil. She has served for a number of years as the secretary of the Tomball Art League. Come and enjoy as sampling of her work.

Alicia Mitchell exhibiting in Room L-129

Alicia Mitchell is back with more of her prolific collection of expressive paintings and collages. If you happen to be in the library this month, check out our meeting room--Room L-129--for this El Paso native's exciting work.

Northwest Art League group exhibiting in Room L-129

Within a 200-mile radius of Houston there are 18 independent art leagues under an umbrella fine arts organization called the Lone Star Art Guild. The Tomball Art League serves our immediate area and its next-door neighbor to the south is the Northwest Art League. This month we are delighted to host the artworks of a group of Northwest Art League members in our meeting room. Carmen Zorba, Claire Payne, Jerry Sue Greenhill, and Anh Lam have braved the traffic along Highway 249 to come north and hang a variety of acrylic and watercolor pieces. Do come by and enjoy their work.

Alicia Mitchell exhibition in our Meeting Room

Alicia Mitchell has another exhibition in our meeting room this month. This time she is featuring historic collages and still lifes. The photo at left shows her with her last exhibition here. We invite you to wander through and take a look at them next time you're in the library.

Artists are welcome to reserve the meeting room and hang your paintings for a month at a time. Just phone the reference desk at 832-559-4213 to make arrangements.
