July Events in the Children's Department

We're now about half way through the Summer Reading Program.  It will end on Saturday, August 6.  We have about 1,000 Freeman children signed up and over 200 have completed the program and received a certificate and a book.


  On Your Mark, Get Set...it's time for more fun in the Children's Area!  On Monday, June 13th  at 2:00 pm, Andy the Armadillo from Texas Roadhouse will be wandering around to meet, greet and take pictures.  At 3:00 pm Mick Corley will entertain children and adults (of all ages) with his Reading is for Winners Show!  Enjoy magic, puppetry, mime, juggling and more!  This program is FREE and guaranteed fun!  See you then!

   Get your funnybones ready...Magician Mick Corley visits Freeman Library on Thursday, June 18 for two shows at 2:30 and 3:30 pm.  Mick combines magic, humor, puppets and mime for a laugh-out-loud funny show.  But, he also always includes lots of references to he importance of reading and participating the Summer Reading Program.

Wacky ScienceAward winning show with more that just whiz, bang and poof! Presented by Mick Corley.  Science at its most fun!  Date: Tuesday, July 29, 3:00pm, ages 5 and up.  50 tickets will be given out 30 minutes before the show.  Children must be able to sit through the program without a parent present.

Mick Corley visits Freeman Library

Magician and mime Mick Corley returns to Freeman Library on Thursday, July 10 for shows at 2:30 and 3:30 pm.  Mick uses magic, mime, puppets, and lots of humor to instill a love of reading in his audience.   Mick will talk about how we use science and the scientific method in our everyday life.
