Movie Night

Teen Events this Week!

It's a busy week at the library for teens!

First, if you’re a teen and interested in earning volunteer hours at the library by helping with programs, then the Teen Advisory Group (TAG) is the place to be! Join TAG and meet up with other teens to work together to help plan teen programs, decorate the teen room, and make buttons for the monthly button battles. This month’s meeting will be on Monday, November 12, from 4:45-5:45 PM. We meet in the Teen Game Room.

Teen LittleBits & Movie Night!

This week, come by the Teen Room on Monday, June 18, at 1:30 PM to learn the basics of circuitry. Using LittleBits technology, you can snap together building blocks to create your own invention. For teens and tweens entering grades 6-12. (For younger children, please see the children’s summer reading calendar for their LittleBits classes.)

Then on Thursday, June 21, at 6:00 PM, enjoy a Libraries Rock Movie Night featuring The Rock himself! Watch Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle with your friends. Snacks provided. (© 2017, Columbia Pictures, PG-13)

All programs for teens and tweens entering grades 6-12.

Teen Summer Reading Kick-Off & Tie-Dye War!

The 2018 Summer Reading Program is about to begin! This year’s theme is “Libraries Rock.” Come start things off with a Teen Summer Reading Kick-Off and Movie Night on June 4th starting at 4:00 PM, in the Teen Room. Sign up for a Summer Reading account, get information on upcoming Teen programs and prizes, make your own guitar picks, play Rock Band, video games, and more!

The fun does not stop there. At 6:00 PM, in the Teen Game Room, enjoy the movie, School of Rock, with some delicious popcorn and snacks.

Then, join us for our 6th annual Tie-Dye War! Beat the summer heat by pelting your friends with dye-filled squish balls on Wednesday, June 6, at 2:00 PM, outside by the flagpoles.

Permission slips are required and can be picked up from the library starting on June 1. Holi dye powder WILL stain clothes and may temporarily stain skin.

All programs are for teens and tweens entering grades 6-12.
