Country Club: Nigeria

Join our library “Country Club” and we will “visit” a different country each month to sample food, language, culture, games and more! This month we will celebrate African American History Month and stamp our passports in Nigeria.


This program is for grades 1-5 and kindergartners with an adult.

Date: Wednesday, February 28

Time: 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Space is limited. Please arrive early to ensure participation.
Registration for after-school programs opens 30 minutes prior to the program.

Influential Essayists

In honor of Black History Month, I thought I’d post essay collections from two of my favorite authors – James Baldwin and Chinua Achebe.  They’re both known as much for their unflinchingly honest essays on the Black experience, Baldwin as an American and Achebe as a Nigerian under British colonization, as they are for their fiction and poetry.
