Adobe Creative Cloud at Kingwood Library

When it comes to software, Kingwood Library has you covered. We have recently subscribed to the Adobe Creative Cloud family of apps. This gives you access to Acrobat, Character Animator, Illustrator, Lightroom, Photoshop and more. With an Adobe account you are able to work on creative projects, edit photos, use fonts or stock pictures within the app. There are tutorials to learn how to use the different apps.

To use this software, you will need to book one of our four study rooms. Your first day's booking would be for two hours with a third hour option depending on availability and you may book up to seven days in advance. You can book a study room online or by calling the library at 832-927-7830.

Newly installed Little Library

Special guest author Betty Heverly writes:

You may have noticed the beautiful miniature library nestled between the flagpoles at Evelyn Meador Library. Sigourney Lee, Seabrook resident and proud Girl Scout, recently completed this project for her Girl Scout Silver Award.

The motto of the Little Free Library Program is “Take a Book. Share a Book”. Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization that inspires a love of reading, builds community, and sparks creativity by fostering neighborhood book exchanges around the world. Don’t have time to stop at the library? Grab a book and leave one of your own. Spread the joy!

Congratulations, Sigourney! We look forward to sharing your wonderful project with the community.

No more pencils, No more books, No more teacher's dirty looks

School is out for summer! The kids are celebrating and the parents are mourning. On the other hand the employees at Evelyn Meador Library are working hard organizing events for everyone (young and old) for the annual summer reading program. Let us help you plan your week:

GIMP Your Photos

GIMP is an acronym for GNU Image Manipulation Program.  Now, I now what you're thinking..."huh?".  I had the same reponse, and I'll admit I had to look up the meaning of GNU (a computer operating system comprised entirely of free software).  Basically, this means that GIMP, despite it's rather unfortunate name, is a super-duper, Photoshop like, photo editing software that is completely free.  That's right, free!
