Curious George Storytime

Join us for a special storytime next Tuesday, April 16th, at 4pm in the afternoon. We will read a Curious George book, watch a mini PBS episode and make a fun craft (chocolate covered bananas!). See you there!

Shadow Puppets, Thursday 10:30 AM

Picture of shadow puppets are meant to be displayed here. Thursday, January 24 we are building puppets. On the fourth Thursday of the month here at the Katherine Tyra Library we invite children ages 3 and up to come enjoy an hour of engineering and original creative genius! This Thursday we are constructing puppets! I hope you can join us! This program is intended for children 3+.

Soft as Snow Storytime

picture of snowmen built in Satoland, Sapporo Japan Join Ms. Andleeb for her Soft as Snow story time. She will be reading books about the all things soft and maybe even a few snowy ones too. This story time is intended for children 3-6 and will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday January 8th. Make sure to grab a free ticket at the information desk.

Thursday is Build It! 10:30 AM

This is supposed to be showing a picture of children playing with legos! Come and join our Building program for ages 3-6. There is always a good time with a little music and mess making in our meeting room. We have collected many different kinds of building materials, including a massive bucket of Legos to play with. We have a children's building program every fourth Thursday of the month. Hope to see you there.

Leaf Print Painting for Preschoolers!

Leaf print collage Do you like nature? How about paint? Well if you do then join us for our leaf printing program this coming Thursday, November 15 at 10:30 AM to create unique artwork. This Preschool Picassos program is geared towards children 3 +. Hope to see you there!

Build It! With Legos Thursday @ 10:30 am

Build It! boy with lego truck. Tomorrow we will be enjoying a Lego building day. Join us at 10:30 am to build to your heart’s delight. We have had some pretty cool cars and buildings engineered over the past few months. Come and flex your brain and see what you can come up with. This program is geared for children 3-7 years old.

New Program times for Children's Programs

Beginning in September the following storytimes children's storytimes will be changed.

Tuesday

Preschool Storytime will be changed to 10:30 a.m.

Infant Storytime will be changed to 11:00 a.m.

Wednesday

Toddler Storytimes will be changed to 10:30 & 11:00

The following note and picture was sent in by the mother of Sergio R. (3 years old):

Here is the picture of Sergio and his mommy after enjoying an "I Spy" book and
making a pair of "silly hats" yesterday at the library. He was so proud of himself
and wore it all day. He could not stop telling daddy about having colored and rolled
the "triangles" and stapling them to the "rectangle". :)

Preschool Story Time

Pre-school Story time at Baldwin Boettcher is one of our newer story times. We had our Family story time but due to staffing and time; four, five and six year olds have never had their own story time. However, they now are able to come to the library on Tuesdays at 11 am. This is the time to bring the children who need to develop skills for school. They will experience cutting, coloring, pasting, glueing and reading in a group. Sometimes, the children even get to paint. So, yes, we get messy and experience new things. Come join Ms Nancy and her regulars at story time to get ready for school or just to have some good old fashion fun.
