   The Gulf Coast Reads program may be winding down, but the fun at Katy Branch is still going strong. There’s one week left to complete our Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close-themed scavenger hunt! Come by the branch and pick up a map- then follow the clues for a chance to win some great prizes. 

   If you’ve yet to read the Gulf Coast Reads 2012 book, stop by the branch and borrow a copy today.

Take the Maud Marks Adult Summer Reading Genre Challege!

Yes, that's right, the summer reading program is no longer just for kids.  At the Maud Marks Library, we have all kinds of prizes for adults to win!

Here's how it works:

1. Register online for the adult summer reading program.

2. Stop by the Maud Marks Library to pick up a "Get a Clue" LBI (Library Books Investigations) card.

3. Read (or listen to) one book in five of the eight eligible categories (romance, western, mystery, fantasy, horror, science-fiction, fiction, and non-fiction).

4. Give your completed LBI card to a librarian to enter in the drawing for one of our movie posters and our grand-prize crimefighting toolkit.

5. Receive a certificate for a free book at our Friends of the Maud Marks Library book sale.

First Adult Summer Reading Prize Drawing June 11th

woman readingIf you haven't yet signed up for Adult Summer Reading at HCPL, now's the time!  We'll be drawing from registered readers to win a Kindle Touch eReader on Monday, June 11th.  Every two weeks of the program, we'll randomly draw from current registrants for an eReader prize, either a Kindle Touch or a NOOK Simple Touch.  At the end of the summer, we'll have drawings from readers who complete the program for one $30 Amazon gift card at each branch library and two grand prize drawings  -- one for a Kindle Fire and one for a NOOK Color.

Thanks to the Harris County Friends of the Library for providing the prizes and their generous support of Summer Reading!
