Children's Area Changes!

We are in the beginning phases of a complete Children’s Area overhaul.  Similar to Spring cleaning your house - this type of "cleaning" will be done Library style!   What that means is a shift in the collection, new programming being added and current programming being re-vamped!
One of the most obvious changes to the collection is the location of the Graphic Novels.  They have been moved from the far corner of the children’s area to the shelving unit directly to the left of the Children’s Activity Room.  The Juv. Ref, Country and State books have been shifted down one shelving unit and the current Blue Bonnet books can now be found on the top of the magazine section.
So, bear with us as the changes evolve – we’ll keep you posted as they happen!

Princess and the Pea @ North Channel

Houston Grand Opera’s Opera to Go!  presents The Princess and the Pea. This comic opera retells the classic Hans Christian Andersen story of a heart-sick Prince searching for love in all the wrong places, his cantankerous mother, and a beautiful Princess, who against all odds finds her way into the hearts of the Kingdom.  Join us this Wednesday, April 20th at 3:30 pm in the children's area for this fun performance!

Don't Miss Out On These Great Summer Reading Programs!

The 2009 Summer Reading Program may be nearing the end, but the North Channel Branch Library is still offering lots of fun programming for children and teens.  Kids, joins us next week for Movie Monday on July 27 and Ronald McDonald on Wednesday, July 29.  And teens, check out our Trash or Treasure craft program on Tuesday, July 28 and our Retro Cinema movie day on Thursday, July 30.  We will be watching your pick to highlight movies from the 2000s.
