puppet show

Let's Have Some Adventures!

Got any plans this Saturday? Want to do something fun? Do you like puppet shows? Oh dear! I asked a lot of questions, right? Anyway, we do have a fun program on Saturday.

Puppet Show for Children

Wednesday, December 11th at 1:30 pm

Pre-school children (3 - 6 years old) and their families are invited to see a special edition of Story Pals Storytime. Please be aware that space is limited. Check out a few of the books below to extend your child's experience.  I have included both traditional renditions of The Gingerbread Man, as well as, some really fun fractured fairytales

Stay Calm And Watch a Puppet Show

What are you doing this Saturday? Is there some place you are going? May be watching a movie? I am sure you will have fun but I too have a great suggestion for what you can do. You can watch a Puppet show for free. The show is based on Beauty and the Beast and will be performed by Carranza Puppets at the Forum of the Cypress Creek Christian Community Center where we had all our special summer programs. It's right across the Barbara Bush Branch Library. Isn't that simply wonderful?

Runaway Tortilla Puppet Show

A  runaway toritilla is the star attraction of this week’s pre-K storytime  puppet show.  This Texan take on the classic gingerbread man story stars a number of cool puppet characters including a lizard, jackrabbit and Senor Coyote. The puppet show is based on Eric A Kimmel’s The Runaway Tortilla and is a part of our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Explore India @ Your Library

* Space is limited.

Thursday, May 16th @ 10am.
This year, as we celebrate Asian Pacific Heritage Month,  we will be traveling to  India. Children and their  families are invited to join us for a free  puppet show.

* Tickets are not required. The safety of the children we serve is our first consideration. Room  capacity, as  determined by the fire  Marshall, as well as our desire for a  high-quality program necessitates limits.

This program will be in place of our regularly scheduled storytime.

Asian-Pacific Heritage Month

If you were not aware, May is Asian-Pacific Heritage Month.  Here at Northwest, we will have several events to spotlight the various peoples and cultures of Asia and the Pacific.  On May 18th, we will have an Origami Workshop at 1:00 pm as well as a Henna Workshop at 2:00 pm.  On May 25th, there will be a Shadow Puppet Show and Craft in the meeting room at 1:00 pm.  Be sure to check our online calendar to stay up to date with all our special events throughout the month.

"Magical Monday" Puppet Show

Have some fun with Miss Rose, Miss Connie, and Miss Jane as we present a  puppet show Monday, April 22, at 4 pm in the Children's Activity Room. After the show, there will be puppets to make and take home.

Don't forget Dragoneers, Thursday, April 25, at 4 pm.

Hispanic Heritage Month @ The Library

BOLT (Board of Library Teens) will present a Puppet Show based on Hispanic Folklore.

PUPPET PIZZAZ EXTRAVAGANZA: AUG. 2ND AT 3 PM

Kids, join us on August 2nd at 3 pm for a Puppet Pizzaz Extravaganza with Mr. Greg Ruhe  for our final SRP program this year. Tickets can be picked up at the information desk 1 hour before the program.  Mr. Ruhe has been delighting children in schools and libraries in the Houston area for the past 20 years with his puppets. This show is sure to be a lot of fun so we look forward to seeing you all there. Because of limited space, children must be old enough to sit through a program without a parent.

Annual Variety Show

Susan and I will be touring area libraries next week to take part in the Harris County Public Library's Annual Variety Show. Therefore, Storytimes and Infant Lapsit programs will not be held June 20th– 24th.  Our regular schedule will resume the following week on Monday, June 27th.

Children are invited to join the Atascocita performance on Tuesday, June 21st at 3:30 pm.  Space is limited, thus each child will need a ticket to attend.
