Aladdin & Princess Jasmine

Who flies on a a magic carpet and has a genie for a best buddy? Aladdin of course! Join us for a special Spring Break treat when Marionette Playhouse performs Aladdin and Princess Jasmine this Wednesday, March 15 at 2:30pm. in the Children's Area. Trick or Treat@N.Channel Branch!

Are you looking for some spooky Halloween Fun? Then wear your costume and join us here at North Channel Library on Thursday, October 29 at 4:30 for a special Puppet Pizzazz! Halloween themed shadow & giant puppetry show for all ages...We'll finish up with a costume parade around the stacks and through the library, and there will be candy  treats too! Marionette Puppet Show!

  You are in for an amazing treat this Monday, June 29th at 3:00 pmJean Kuechner of Marionette Playhouse will be in the Children's Area to present her telling of Sleeping Beauty and the Handsome Prince!  This program is FREE and appropriate for children (and adults) of all ages! And, there's still 6 weeks left of the Summer Reading Program!  Register and create your profile, read and log your books, get your certificate and incentives and most importantly, have lots of fun! 

Runaway Tortilla Puppet Show

A  runaway toritilla is the star attraction of this week’s pre-K storytime  puppet show.  This Texan take on the classic gingerbread man story stars a number of cool puppet characters including a lizard, jackrabbit and Senor Coyote. The puppet show is based on Eric A Kimmel’s The Runaway Tortilla and is a part of our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Asian-Pacific Heritage Month

If you were not aware, May is Asian-Pacific Heritage Month.  Here at Northwest, we will have several events to spotlight the various peoples and cultures of Asia and the Pacific.  On May 18th, we will have an Origami Workshop at 1:00 pm as well as a Henna Workshop at 2:00 pm.  On May 25th, there will be a Shadow Puppet Show and Craft in the meeting room at 1:00 pm.  Be sure to check our online calendar to stay up to date with all our special events throughout the month.
 

"Magical Monday" Puppet Show

Have some fun with Miss Rose, Miss Connie, and Miss Jane as we present a  puppet show Monday, April 22, at 4 pm in the Children's Activity Room. After the show, there will be puppets to make and take home.

Don't forget Dragoneers, Thursday, April 25, at 4 pm.

Summer Reading Program Puppet Show!

Come one, come all!  It's our 2010 Summer Reading Program Puppet Show!  Thursday, June 24th at 2:30 PM in our Children's Area.  Miss Linda and fellow librarians will be singing songs, doing skits, and doing a puppet show.  So don't forget to stop by and join in on the fun!

HISPANIC HERITAGE FESTIVAL-SAVE THE DATE!

On Saturday September 26th, the North Channel Library will host the annual Hispanic Heritage Festival. Please mark this date on your calendar! Commissioner Sylvia Garcia will be on hand to kick off the celebration. Puppeteers will present a fun show in the Children's Area. Then we move outside for free food, crafts, music and more from 10 am until 2 pm. Businesses are invited to make donations. Please call for more information: 281-457-1631
