Spanish Computer Classes and English Resume Formatting Class

Spanish Computer Classes are back! Sisi Medina, one of our Adult Reference Assistants, will be teaching two free computer classes in Spanish in March. Los Básicos de la Computadora will be held Monday, March 9th from 1-3 pm; Word en Español will be happen Monday, March 23rd from 1-3 pm. Both will take place in Room L-216, the public library computer lab. Registration is requested but not required. We are also starting a series called Word for Business, and in March, Megan Hopwood, our Technology Training Assistant, will feature a free evening class on formatting resumes. She won’t teach you how to create your resume—that’s up to you—but she will show you how to make it attractive. That’s Monday, March 23rd from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Registration, requested but not required, can be completed by phoning 832-559-4200 or by clicking on this link to the Word for Business: Resumes registration form and filling it out. It also will take place in Room L-216, our computer lab. 

Free Resume Workshop!

Need help with your resume?  Workforce Solutions' presenter Cheryl Sandifer will be providing helpful tips and advice to help you develop and polish your resume!  This free workshop will be offered on Tuesday, March 19 at 1:00 p.m. in our Computer Lab. Creating a Resume. You may have the skills the employer is looking for and never get to the interview if your resume does not highlight those skills. Develop a professional resume that will match your skills and experience to the job and employer you are looking for. Most employers will ask you to complete an employment application, even if you have a great resume. Learn how to complete an application for employment thoroughly, accurately, and neatly. If you missed our Job Search Seminars last year, you’re in luck.  We’re starting 2010 with another round of seminars given by the Texas Workforce Solutions.  They’ll be every Tuesday from 10:30am to noon.  The first one starts this week on January 12th and will feature the topic: Resumes.
