TGIF Programs Hosting COM 50 Plus Program This Friday Morning!

TGIF Programs will host a presentation by the College of the Mainland (COM) 50 Plus Program this at 10:30 AM. The COM 50 Plus Program offers classes and lectures, as well as a day and extended travel program. This free presentation will require no registration. Refreshments for this presentation will be provided by the Friends of Freeman Library.

fun4seniorsHarris County Precinct 4's Senior Adult Program is offering the following Fun4Seniors Excursion Trips for library customers in April and May 2016. Participating is simple. Participants must be 50 years and older and must register for trips by calling 281-893-3726. All trips depart from and return to Kingwood Branch Library located at 4400 Bens View Lane, Kingwood TX 77339. Transportation is free and lunch is on your own. Some destinations require an admission fee. All trips require registering by calling 281-893-3726 in order to participate.

TGIF Programs' Technology Q&A Series Meets in the Training Lab this Friday!


Did you get a cool new laptop or smartphone over the winter break and wonder how to better use it? If so, please join us in the upstairs Training Lab on Friday, January 15 at 10:30 AM for TGIF Programs' Technology Question and Answer Series. This will be a great time to ask Freeman Library staff about computers, smartphones, devices, and eContent.

The December Adult Crafts-To-Go Kit Has Arrived!

Adults please stop by the upstairs Reference Desk to pick up your own Adult Crafts-To-Go kit. We’ll be making a Gingerbread House Ornament. This free kit will include all materials necessary as well as instructions. This project will be available to adult patrons while supplies last. Materials for this Maker program are provided by the Friends of Freeman Library.

TGIF Programs Friday Film Series Showing Cinderella This Friday!

The TGIF Programs Friday Film Series continues on Friday, November 20 at 10:15 AM in the Marge Jacobson Community Room. We will be showing Cinderella (2015) which stars Lily James, Cate Blanchett, and Richard Madden.

All TGIF Programs events are free and no registration is required. Coffee, snacks, and film shown are provided by the Friends of Freeman Library. The copy of the film shown will be added to the HCPL circulating collection. Texas Rice Festival with Fun4Seniors

Johnny LeeTake a fun trip to the Texas Rice Festival in Winnie with the Precinct 4 Seniors on Saturday, October 3. The Festival features amazing food, live entertainment, pageants, an arts and crafts show, an art and photography exhibit, an antique car show, livestock shows, and all kinds of contests. There is no charge for seniors 65 and older. Tickets are $10 for adults under 65 and can be purchased at the gate. Lunch is on your own at the festival. Bus transportation is provided from the Fairbanks Library departing at 10:30 a.m.

TGIF Programs' Friday Film Series Returns for Hispanic Heritage Month

The Friday Film Series resumes on Friday, September 25 at 10:15 AM in the Marge Jacobson Community Room. We collected votes for the September film throughout Summer 2015 and The Mask of Zorro won. This film tells the story of a young thief, seeking revenge over the death of his brother, is trained by the once great, but aged Zorro, who is also seeking a vengeance of his own. The Mask of Zorro, which stars Antonio Banderas, Anthony Hopkins, and Catherine Zeta-Jones, is provided by the Friends of Freeman Library. After this showing, the film will be donated to HCPL’s circulating collection.
