Adults - Please join TGIF Programs this Friday @ 10 AM for "Making Life's Major Decisions, A Panel Discussion" hosted by the Senior Care Advocacy, LLC & the Silver Networkers. Panelists include: Read and Vanae Flake, Assisting Hands, Kim Hegwood, Elder Lawyer, Scott Palmer, Heartis Senior Living, & Elizabeth Quigley, Senior Advocate. Presenters will take questions following the discussion.

Adults -  This Friday @ 10:30 AM - Join us for our Tech Q&A Discussion in the Upstairs Training Lab. Let's talk about the technology issues concerning you! People from Freeman Library will be here to address questions about desktops/laptops, smartphones, digital tablets, HCPL eMedia, & more.

Registration Opens Tomorrow - Senior Adult Trip to the Houston Mounted Patrol

Senior Adults - If you are at least 55 years old, then we hope you will consider joining us for a day trip on Thursday, 11/10. The Precinct2gether bus will depart from the Freeman Library parking lot. Please plan for plenty of walking and wear comfortable, rubber-soled shoes.

Our 1rst stop will be at the Houston Mounted Patrol Horse Barn (5005 Little York Rd./ Houston, TX 77016-2547) which houses the equine members of the Houston Police Department. Trip goers will hear a presentation followed by interaction with the horses.

Afterwards, we'll dine at the Potatoe Patch Restaurant (2020 FM 1960/ Houston, TX 77073) for lunch. This home cooking style restaurant is well-known for its "throw'ed rolls." Each participant is responsible for the cost of their own meal.

Adult Crafts-To-Go Project This October!

Adults - please stop by the upstairs Reference Desk, to pick up an Adult Crafts-To-Go kit. This month, we're crafting woven heart baskets. This free kit will include all materials necessary as well as instructions. This project will be available to adult patrons while supplies last.

TGIF Programs Hosts Mothers Against Drunk Driving MADD - Friday


Adults - Please join TGIF Programs as we host - "Lifesaver, Is that You?" by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) - this Friday @ 10:30 AM. Jeanette Einkauf, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)/Law Enforcement, will deliver a presentation, followed by a question and answer session. She will also distribute handouts for attendees.

TGIF Programs Hosts College of the Mainland (COM) 50 Plus Program Friday!


Adults - Please join us as TGIF Programs hosts a presentation by the College of the Mainland (COM) 50 Plus Program this Friday @ 10:30 AM. The COM 50 Plus Program offers classes and lectures, as well as a day and extended travel program. This free presentation will require no registration. Refreshments for this presentation will be provided by the Friends of Freeman Library. Please contact Freeman Library for more information.

 

Precinct 4 Fun4Seniors Events

BatsIn September, Harris County Precinct 4’s Fun4Seniors program will be sponsoring two bus trips starting from the library parking lot. Contact the Senior Adult Program at 281-893-3726 for more information about all of their offerings for adults age 50+.
On Saturday, September 10, take a trip to Caldwell, Texas, for the Kolache Festival. This trip is free. The bus departs at 8:30 am and returns at 5:00 pm.

f4sHarris County Precinct 4's Senior Adult Program is offering the following Fun4Seniors Excursion Trips for library customers in September and October 2016. Participating is simple. Participants must be 50 years and older and must register for trips by calling 281-893-3726. All trips depart from and return to Kingwood Branch Library located at 4400 Bens View Lane, Kingwood TX 77339. Transportation is free and lunch is on your own. Some destinations require an admission fee. All trips require registering by calling 281-893-3726 in order to participate.

Senior Adult Trips - Registration For 9/1 Trip Opens Tomorrow Morning!

If you are at least 55 years old, then we hope you will join us on a day trip on Thursday, 09/01. The Precinct2gether bus departs from the Freeman Library parking lot no later than 9:00 AM.

Our 1st stop will be at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas | Houston Branch where we will enjoy a walking tour. Please wear comfortable shoes and expect plenty of walking.
