What do libraries do?

When most people think “library” they think books. Yes, that is true, but books can take many different shapes, such as e-books and audiobooks. But we offer more than  just books, libraries are places of information, offering people free access to a wealth of information that they often they can’t find elsewhere, whether online, in print or in person. If you are looking for DVDs or the latest best-seller, health or business information found on internet databases not available at home, or going for story times and community programming.

Tool Check Out at the Little Blue Library

The Baldwin Boettcher Library is proud to announce that as of March 1st 2019 we are partnering with Mercer Botanic Gardens to provide a new service to the public. Anyone with a Harris County Public Library card in good standing can place a hold, and borrow yard and gardening tools from the Baldwin Boettcher Branch Library. You may borrow a total of 40 (Up to 20 small tools and up to 20 large tools). The lending period for tools is 14 days with no renewals. You may return the item and borrow it again if there is not a waiting list for the tool. The tools are not in the HCPL catalogue, but you can contact any Harris County Library to place a hold. Keep in mind tools can only be picked up and returned at the Baldwin Boettcher Library during open hours.
