Pajama Storytime this Thursday, January 24 @ 6:00 pm

   Children are welcome to wear their comfortable pajamas and even bring a blanket or stuffed animal friend to Pajama Storytime this Thursday, January 24 @ 6:00 pm.  We'll have stories, songs, fingerplays, and a fun craft to end the evening.  Tickets are given out at 5:30 pm.   Thank you to the Friends of Freeman Library for supporting this program.

Storytime takes a Holiday Break

There will be no story times offered at the Katy Library during the holiday break.  We will resume our regular story time schedule with Baby Time on January 7, 2018 at 10:15am.



Our regular story time hours are as follows:

Baby Time (birth-18months)          Mondays, 10:15am

Toddler Time (18months - 3yrs)    Tuesdays, 10:30am

Preschool Story Time (3-5yrs)      Thursdays, 10:30am

Santa Storytime

We will have a visitor at the Katy Library on December 18, 2018!  Join us for our Santa Storytime at 10:30am.  We will read Christmas stories and your little ones will have a chance to visit and take pictures with Santa Claus!

On December 12th at 10:30 AM, the Parker Williams Branch Library will be hosting a special storytime with a special guest… SANTA!

Santa will be spending time with the kids as he reads a few books with them and shares a few heartwarming memories.

Join us in the Library Community Room for the fun and festivities. 

Storytimes and More Coming Soon to Lone Star College - Creekside Center

In January 2019, as part of its long-standing partnership with Harris County Precinct 4 and Lone Star College - Tomball, Harris County Public Library will begin to introduce some public library services to the Creekside community at the LSC – Creekside Center campus. To meet community demand, the project’s initial focus will be early literacy. Along with a small collection of children’s books, there will be two story times each Monday at Creekside Center. One for toddlers and one for preschool-age children. Each session will feature stories, songs, rhymes and an occasional craft activity.

Story times will begin Monday, January 28, 2019. Additional public library services will be phased in over time.

Pajama Storytime on Thursday, October 25 @ 6 pm

  Looking for a fun outing the family this Thursday evening?  Join us for Pajama Storytime at 6:00 pm.  This storytime is recommended for children from infants throuogh 5 years old.  Children are welscome to weaqr pajamas, slppers, and bring a favorite blanket or stuffed animal.  It features books, songs, fingerplays and a fun craft.  Tickets are given out at 5:30 pm.   Thank  you to the Friends of Freeman LIbrary for supporting this program.

Children's Program Break

Back-to-School Program Break: August 13 - September 4th

Please note that in order to provide time for staff to prepare for school year programs, the Children's department will take a short break from our regular programs and story times. We will resume regular programs and story times on Tuesday, September 5th.

Family Storytime – Texans Recovering Together [5+] - Monday, July 30th at 7 PM




The Harris Center, a mental health organization, will be presenting a Family Storytime at the Parker Williams Branch Library that will be addressing the stress and worry that come with storms and hurricanes.

Please join us in the Library Community Room on Monday, July 30th at 7 PM. 

Gingerbread House Craft

Gingerbread HouseNight Before ChristmasFriday, December 22nd at 2:00 pm come to the library to hear a story and make a gingerbread house. Listen to the story The Night Before Christmas by Clement C. Moore and illustrated by Antonio Javier Caparo, then make your own Gingerbread house for the holidays. We will have graham crackers, frosting and lots of candy to help you build a masterpiece.  There is extra to snack on while you build. Space is limited, so come 30 minutes early to get a free ticket at the desk. This program is for children 6-11 years old.

Halloween Storytime and Dr. Frankenstein’s Lab Blindfold Tour October 28th @ 11:30 PM [6+]

On Saturday, October 28th at 11:30, the Parker Williams Branch Library will be hosting a special family Halloween Storytime in the children’s area.

We read a few books, sing a few songs, and have a costume parade around the library.

Afterwards, we will be taking those brave enough for a blindfold tour of Dr. Frankenstein’s Lab to touch some of the specimens and oddities.

Join us for a screaming good time.
