Summer is the perfect time to earn some extra cash, whether it's  the job of your dreams or a daily slog.
If you're working hard for your money or working hard for no money, a.k.a. the Summer Internship,
you'll find some solidarity with these summer job reads. Have the summer off? Get all of the experience with
none of the work!

Summer Is Here!

School is out and summer is here. What to do? Head over to the Aldine Library! We have alot going on. Check out our online calendar. We have programs for children each week at 3 PM. Also, we have a Lego Club for kids on the 2nd & 4th Saturday of each month at 2 PM.

Teens, we have a Comic Book Club that meets from 3-5 PM every Monday as part of Teen Hangs. Also, teens, we are showing super hero movies on Fridays at 3 PM on the following dates: June 19th, July 10th, July 17th, and July 31st.

Summer Reading Club Begins!

 Monday, June 1st is the start of the annual Texas Summer Reading Club!  This year's theme is "every hero has a story"!  There are reading programs for Babies, Kids, Teens and Adults!  Sign up at  www.HCPL.net and let the fun begin!  Children can read and log books, write book reviews and complete hero quest activities to earn badges on their profile.  After signing up, come to the library for a free "reading is my superpower" stretchy bracelet and then read 10 books or 500 minutes to receive a certificate and free book* (*while supplies last).  But, that's not all!  Every Monday at 3:00 pm, enjoy fun and fabulous shows and every Thursday at 3:00 pm come and watch a movie in the Children's Activity Room (call Library for movie title).  Check out our Summer calendar ~ There's a whole lot of fun waiting for you and your child at the Tomball Library! 

Summer English as a Second Language Classes Open NOW!

          Need to improve your English skills?  We will begin accepting Levels 1 and 2 English as a Second Language (ESL) applications for our free classes on Friday, May 15th.   We will offer classes for the summer starting Tuesday, June 9th.  Both levels will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7:45 PM.  Come in to the North Channel Branch Library today to register!

Note: There will not be Level 2 classes in August.

       ¡Atención, estudiantes de inglés!  El 15 de mayo la biblioteca de North Channel comenzará a aceptar estudiantes para nuestras clases de inglés que ofreceremos en el verano.  Habrá una clase para nivel 1 y una clase para nivel 2.  Las clases son en la tarde, de 6 a 7:45 PM todos los martes y jueves.  Las clases empiezan el martes 9 de junio. Todas las clases son gratis. ¡Venga a la biblioteca hoy para llenar una solicitud e inscribirse en las clases!

Nota: No van a tener clases de nivel 2 en Agosto.

  is just around the corner; it's time once again for the Summer Reading Program! It all kicks off on Monday, June 2nd. There are four reading programs and a bunch of fun activities for kids and teens.

islan sunto take our Summer Reading Prize Pack Survey!   Summer is quickly approaching (yay!), and we’re busy planning some wicked awesome programs and prizes for all the Kingwood Teens.  So let your voice be heard!  Take our Summer Reading Prize Pack survey online by clicking here, or stop by the Teen Area to fill out a form. 

Entries into the Prize Pack Drawings can be earned by attending programs, and for every book over 5 books that you read this summer.  You must be registered with the Summer Reading Program to earn entries for books read; you do not need to register or complete the Summer Reading Program to earn program attendance entries. 

Let the Fun Begin!

School is in session and the 2013 Summer Reading Program has sadly come to an end. We had a great time and below are just a few pictures capturing some of the fun. If you didn't have a chance to come to our programs this summer, no need to worry. We will be having children's story time every week for toddlers, preschoolers, and babies.

Tuesday: Toddler Time                       1:00 pm -  2:00 pm
Wednesday: Baby Time                      1:00 pm -  2:00 pm
Thursday: Pre-School Story Time      1:00 pm -  2:00 pm
