TGIF Programs Winter Film Festival Concludes in Event #3 - Friday!


The TGIF Programs Winter Film Festival concludes in Event #3 this Friday at 10:15 AM. We look forward to showing Alfred Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief, a 1955 film starring Cary Grant, Grace Kelly,and Jessie Royce Landis. This film, rated PG, lasts 106 minutes.

TGIF Programs' Winter Film Festival Event #2 - This Friday!


The TGIF Programs Winter Film Festival continues with Event #2 this Friday. We will show Vertigo, the 1958 Alfred Hitchcock film starring James Stewart, Kim Novak, and Barbara Bel Geddes.

Refreshments and DVD are provided by the Friends of Freeman Library. After Event #2, the DVD will be added to the HCPL Collection and available for checkout. This free program requires no registration.

TGIF Programs Winter Film Festival Kicks Off Friday!


Adults - Please join us for the first event of TGIF Programs Winter Film Festival. We look forward to showing Christmas in Connecticut, a 1945 romantic comedy starring Barbara Stanwyck, Dennis Morgan, and Sydney Greenstreet. This unrated film is 102 minutes long.

TGIF Programs this Friday @ 10:30 AM - Pickleball Primer!


Adults - Have you ever been curious about playing Pickleball? Then, join us as Richard Kidder tells us about the history and origin of the game, the court layout and equipment needed to play. He will also describe the actual playing of the game and the scoring, including some videos of the recent US open championship.

TGIF Programs This Friday - Making Life's Major Decisions, A Panel Discussion

Adults - Please join TGIF Programs this Friday @ 10 AM for "Making Life's Major Decisions, A Panel Discussion" hosted by the Senior Care Advocacy, LLC & the Silver Networkers. Panelists include: Read and Vanae Flake, Assisting Hands, Kim Hegwood, Elder Lawyer, Scott Palmer, Heartis Senior Living, & Elizabeth Quigley, Senior Advocate. Presenters will take questions following the discussion.

TGIF Programs Friday Film Series - This Friday!

We look forward to showing Midnight in Paris, a 2011 Woody Allen film starring Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, and Kathy Bates. This 94-minute film is rated PG-13. Both film and light refreshments are provided by the Friends of Freeman Library. After this event, the DVD shown will be added to HCPL's circulating collection.

TGIF Programs Hosts "Maintaining Your Jr Outlook in a Sr Body"


Adults - Please join TGIF Programs on Friday, November 4 at 10:30 AM. Mary Schmitz-Brown B.S., CCRC, Assistant Director of Research, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, University of Texas Medical Branch, will present "Maintaining Your Junior Outlook in a Senior Body—Eye Health and Safety Risks in an Aging Population."
