Autism Awareness Month

The month of April is Autism Awareness month.  This nationwide effort promotes awareness, inclusion and self-determination for all with ASD, and also strives to assure that each person is provided with every opportunity to achieve their highest possible quality of life. The Library joins in this awareness and shows their support by “lighting up blue” the overhead lighting of the first floor reference area of the library.  And, on Saturday, April 25th at 11:00 in room L129,  a Sensory Sensitive Film will be shown – the sound will be lowered, the lights left up and all in attendance are invited to bring snacks, move about and enjoy this FREE, fun event with friends and family!  Please call the library for the title of this G-rated Disney movie at 832-559-4200.

Thanks, Tomball!

Thank you, people of Tomball! Do you know we've been here on the LSC-Tomball campus for almost ten years now? Thank you to all of you for letting us serve you these past ten years. At the end of January we'll be throwing a big party, so come and celebrate with us then.

Tomball Library in Your Community

Staff from the LSC-Tomball Community Library are reaching out to the community at fun, local events. Children’s staff participated at the 2nd Saturday at the Tomball Depot on September 12th. Children who attended this monthly community event, which includes a movie, music and local businesses, made a backpack craft while their families learned more about our Library, story times and after-school programs. This Saturday, September 19, from 10 am until 2 pm, staff will also be promoting Library services and programs during the CommUnity Resources Day at the Lone Star College-Tomball’s Beckendorf Conference Center. The College, as well as local and surrounding area Chambers of Commerce and businesses, are hosting this free, public event. Local residents interested in learning more about free and low-cost services provided by non-profit organizations are encouraged to attend. Drop by and see us at the Library information table!
