Nominate a Special Tree in Katy

TreeDo you know of a historic tree in Katy that should be celebrated for its importance?  Nominate it to be one of the 2012 Legacy Trees.  The Keep Katy Beautiful group is gathering suggestions and will be announcing the 2012 selections at the City Council meeting on June 11.  For more information, check out the City of Katy website.

Save Your Trees

The majestic trees that make our area so pleasant and distinctive had a rough summer last year. Thousands died in our terrible drought. The weather wizards are telling us to expect another dry summer this year. So we have invited Barry Ward, the executive director of Trees for Houston, to come to the library on Tuesday, March 20th, and tell us all how we can save and protect our trees this summer. The lecture, from 10-11 a.m., is free, and no registration is necessary. It'll be held in Room L-129. Please join us.

Time to Think About Your Trees @ your library

The under50over Program at Clear Lake City-County Freeman invites you to join us Friday, January 13th at 10:30 am in the Marge Jacobson Community Room. Hear from Barry Ward, Executive Director of Trees For Houston, talk about planting trees and caring for them.

Light refreshments are provided by the Friends of Freeman Library.

Please contact the Reference Desk at (281) 488-1906 or visit us on the Second Floor for more information.
