This beautiful former orphanage houses 70,000 items representing the history of southwestern United States from ancient Native American cultural artifacts to extraordinary 21st century pieces. Treasures include exquisite saddles, spurs, antique firearms, folk art and fine art, exceptionally rare maps and books, and rare German, French, Spanish, and English documents. Harris County Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program offers tickets and transportation to adults age 50 and better. This trip is on January 22 and costs $6 per person plus the cost of your lunch at Olympia Grill before the museum visit. The bus will leave the library parking lot at 9 a.m. and return at 5 p.m.
