STEAM Tween Wednesday: Make a Marble Roller Coaster on Wednesday, January 9 @ 4:30 pm

  Tweens 8-12 years old will learn basic laws of physics and energy by creating their own roller coaster on Wednesday, January 9 @ 4:30 pm.  This fun program uses marbles and lots of creativity to illustrate the twists, turnss, races and spins that take place on a roller coaster.   Tickets will be given out at 4:00 pm.  Thank you to the Friends of Freeman Library for their support for this program.

Monday at The Little Blue Library

Yesterday was a busy day at the Little Blue Library.  At 10:30 am we had Story Time in the Gardens.  It is for ages 2 to 6 years and takes place under the Tree House.  This week’s theme was Glaciers.  Then at 4 pm we had our Tween Readers Club for ages 9 to 12 years.  Each month we read a book and then meet to talk about it and eat some wonderful treats.  Next month the book will be, “The Miscalculations of Lightning Girl” by Stacy McAnulty.  If you can survive a bolt of lightning, you can survive middle school right?

Tween Fun: Make a Balloon Race Car on Wednesday, October 24 @ 4:30 pm

   Tweens 8-12 years old will have fun building a balloon-powered race car on Wednesday, October 24 at 4:30 pm.  Tweens will get a balloon and all the supplies needed to put together a neat little car to bring homel.  Tickets for this program will be given out at 4:00 pm.  Thank you to the Friends of Freeman Library for supporting this program.

Stained Art for Teens on Thursday

Today is the teen craft at Baldwin Boettcher’s Little Blue Library.  Teens will be creating stained art, and “paint with all the colors of the wind” and make simple but awesome stained art to decorate their space.  This program is for ages 11 to 18 years and will take place under the tree house from 3:45 to 4:45 pm.  No registration is necessary and as always, it is a free program.  So come join us.  We would love to have you participate in the fun!

Tween Afternoon Art Program on Wednesday, April 11 @ 4:30 pm

Tweens 8-12 years old can learn about art history when they attend Tween Afternoon Art on Wednesday, April 11 at 4:30 pm.  Tweens will learn about the Fauvist Movement in art and then do an art project inspired by the movement.   Tickets will be given out at the Kids Information Desk at  4:00 pm.   This art history program continues on Wednesdays - April 18 (Cubism) and April 25 (Expressionism) at 4:30 pm.   Thank you to the Friends of Freeman Library for supporting this program with art supplies.

Tweens & Teens: Get Crafty with Camp Stitch-a-Lot: Macrame Edition

Calling all Tweens and Teens! Join us for a week of Macrame! Create a different project every day. Learn how to knot bracelets, headbands, necklaces, and a dreamcatcher. Registration is suggested as supplies and space is limited. This program is open to tweens and teens ages 10-18 years old. You can pick up a registration form at the front desk of the library.

Tween Time: Origami Fortunes

At Tween Time this Wednesday, May 31 at 4:30pm we'll be celebrating Asian Pacific Heritage Month by making our own Paper Fortune Cookies! Join the fun and try your hand at a variety of colorful origami animals as well... Tween Time is a monthly program, on the last Wednesday of the month, for ages 9-12 years where socialization is encouraged in a casual setting through crafts, science, art activities and occasional movies. Tween Gardening Program on Friday, April 7 @ 4:30 pm

Tweens 8-12 years old can start learning the fundamentals of herb gardening this Friday, April 7 at 4:30 pm.  The participants will learn a little about growing plants from seed and then get to start their own garden to take home.   Tickets are required.  They are free and available starting at 4:00 pm.
