Teen Upcycling Programs in February

Starting today, the Northwest Branch will host an upcycling craft series for teens and tweens in the month of February. Upcycling is a fancy way to say "recycle materials into something cool." They will get the chance to take old materials, such as shirts, magazines, books, or other things they'd have lying around, and they'll make something more out of it. There will be four different things they can make:

Feb 4
T-Shirt Tote Bag: Make a fashionable bag out of old t-shirts.

Feb 11
Matchbox Valentines: Take mini matchboxes or tins to decorate and give away as valentines.

Feb 18
Magazine Cut Up: Take apart magazines and learn to make jewelry and things out of magazines.

Feb 25
Book Bag: See how to take apart covers of old books and make purses and bags out of them.

All crafts will be taking place in the Teen Area from 4pm - 5pm. It's recommended people bring materials to use, but materials will also be available at the time of craft.
