World Cup Soccer

On the Pitch

Not only is this month the start odf summer reading, but it's time again for one of my favorite event: the Women's World Cup. This year is host to the 8th annual tournament, and it all kicks off June 7th. I've followed soccer for so many years, so I wanted to celebrate the tournament and share some titles-some for all ages, and for all levels of soccer knowledge. Don't worry, you don't need to be able to explain (or understand) the offside rule to like these books. So keep you eyes on the books (and the game) and enjoy!

Like most of the planet beyond our borders, I've been watching a good deal of the World Cup. Despite the hornet's nest drone of the ubiquitous vuvuzelas and the fact that soccer players tend to react like they've been trepanned with a soup spoon whenever an opposing player so much as gives them a hard stare, I've been enjoying it.
