Local Authors will Discuss Writing and Publishing @ LSC-Tomball, Saturday, Sept. 6.

They say everyone has a book inside them just dying to get out, but once you write it, the question becomes how to get it into the hands of readers. This Saturday, September 6, 1:00 – 4:00 pm, LSC – Tomball Community Library will host an Author Date with three local writers who have done just that.

Come enjoy light refreshments and meet authors, Paul A. Bussard, Alberto Arcia and Alan Berkowitz as they discuss the ins-and-outs of publishing and the writing process.

LSC – Tomball Community Library, Room L-129.
Saturday, September 6, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Copies of the authors’ books will be available for purchase from the Friends of Tomball Library.

Write Your Writer!

Book Cover Drop Dead HealthyRecently, I took time out to write to one of my favorite authors, A. J. Jacobs. I have read all of his books as well as tracked down his Esquire Magazine articles! If you are unfamiliar with A. J. Jacobs, he is essentially willing to experiment with convention and document his findings with great humor and self-reflection.

Clear Lake Area Writers (CLAW)

Freeman Library has partnered with the Clear Lake Area Writers (CLAW), a free writers’ critique group, which meets on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of every month from 10 a.m.-12:00 noon (November and December, 2nd Saturday only).

CLAW welcomes amateurs, hobbyists, semi-pros and pros across all genres, so if you have a piece of writing that you would like critiqued bring it in.  You can also help provide feedback to others who have brought in their own works.  CLAW also welcomes listeners, so feel free to join in even if you don’t have a piece of writing to critique.
