Picture It!: Teen Read Week Events

From art to zines, you can celebrate Teen Read Week next week at the Atascocita Branch Library! On Monday, October 17th at 4:30pm get graphic with our Graphic Novel Book Club. Bring your favorite manga, superhero or graphic novels to the meeting so you can share them with the group.

Want to create your own publication and trade it with people all over the world? Learn about the wonderful world of zines at Zine Scene on Wednesday, October 19th at 4:30pm. Help contribute to our very first library zine.

Teens: Get Connected @ the Library

Celebrate Teen Tech Week with 2 fabulous programs at the library! On Monday, March 7th at 4:30pm take The Road to Riches and learn about money management for teens. Get some Hot Tech Tips for Teen Tech Week on Thursday, March 10th at 7pm. That night, you can play with an iPad, a Kindle, and other gadgets at the Technology Petting Zoo. Get tips on how to edit videos, use a drawing tablet, and stay safe online.

Teen Read Week 2010: Books With Beat

The countdown to Teen Read Week begins! From October 17th to October 23rd, libraries around the country celebrate teen reading by holding Teen Read Week activities.  This year's theme is "Books With Beat". Check out the HCPL events calendar to see what your library is doing this week.

Teen Read Week: Live Like a Rock Star @ at the Library

Calling all future rock stars! Join us at the Atascocita Library as we celebrate "Books With Beat" in honor of Teen Read Week with two rocking programs.

Learn how to "Dress Like a Rock Star" on Wednesday, October 20th at 4:30pm.  Create a personalized guitar pick necklace, pick up your rock star swag bag, and have your picture snapped by the paparazzi.

Thursday night, October 21st, at 7pm, you can "Rock the Library" with Guitar Hero and Karaoke. Wear your best rock star gear and compete for fabulous prizes.
