New Year's Resolution?

What was your New Year's resolution?  Did you resolve to get healthy? Exercise more?  Learn relaxation techniques?  In that case, Maud Marks Library would love to help you meet those goals.

After a (very) short break, yoga is back at the Maud Marks Library.  We will be starting back tomorrow at 10 AM with our beginner yoga class.  The class is held the first Saturday of every month at 10 AM and the third Saturday of every month at 3 PM.  You can join up at any time but registration is required.  There are only a few spots left for this Saturday so click here to register.

Yoga @ Your Library

Yoga makes its triumphant return to the Maud Marks Library with classes twice a month beginning in September. Yoga can be a very relaxing and centering exercise program. Join us this Saturday, September 17, at 3 PM, as we learn about the benefits and basic how-to of yoga. Please bring your own yoga mat. Exercise Your Body and Mind!

This past summer, the Maud Marks Library held a yoga class.  It turned out to be extremely popular and ever since, people have been asking, "Will you be doing it again?"  The answer to your question is YES!!!  In fact, in September we will have 2 chances for you to work out your body and mind with the relaxing meditative exercise.  This Saturday, September 3 at 3 PM will be our first class.  Join us for yoga poses and relaxed, controlled breathing as we sink into ourselves.  See you tomorrow as we exercise our bodies and minds.

Tween Time:Yoga!

Strike a pose! Join us Wednesday, July 27 at 4:30pm in the Children's Area when the Wendel D. Ley Family YMCA is here to give us a free yoga class. This program is open to beginners and is recommended for ages 10-12 years. Don't forget any activity counts toward your first reading goal this year for Summer Reading-all ages may sign up online at www. hcpl.net or ask any staff member. Complete any combo of 10 activities and/or books! Pick up your prizes including a pin, a certificate, and a free book (for children) by August 6.

Summer Programs You Don't Want to Miss!!

There are just three weeks left to our summer program!  It's so hard to believe.  Here at the Katy Library, we still have some excellent programs for your school age children to enjoy!  

 

Tuesday, July 19, 2016,  2:30 pm:  Come to the library and learn how to Get Fit with Toro from the Texans!  

                                                               Tickets are handed out starting an hour before the show!  Space is limited!

 

Tuesday, July 26, 2016 2:00 pm  :  Relax with us at Kid's Yoga!  Please bring a yoga mat or towel for your kiddos!

Adult Yoga Every Wednesday

Adults Practicing YogaAre you looking for a convenient way to try yoga for the first time? Try attending our Adult Yoga program each Wednesday. It is the perfect opportunity to learn and practice yoga techniques with other enthusiasts.

The group meets in the meeting room at 6:15 PM. You will need to bring your own mat. We’ll see you there!

Family Yoga with the YMCA

yogaDo you need to de-stress and take a step back from the holiday madness?  Looking for a healthy activity you can do together as a family? Our local YMCA staff will lead us in an all-ages family yoga program on Monday, December 8th at 6 pm. Get ready to relax and s-t-r-e-t-c-h for your health!
