Gene Luen Yang appointed 2015-2016 National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature

Congratulations to graphic novelist Gene Luen Yang for being appointed as the 2015-2015 National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature.

What does this title mean? This position was created “to raise national awareness of the importance of young people’s literature as it relates to lifelong literacy, education and the development and betterment of the lives of young people.” (www.read.gov/cfb/ambassador/about.html)

The National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature is co-sponsored by Library of Congress, Children’s Book Council, and the Every Child a Reader Foundation. To see past ambassadors and other information, visit here
