Craft
I like to use oil pastels with school-aged children. However, be aware that oil pastels will stain clothing.

Other
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, has many educational programs for families. Encluding workshops in their studio and storytimes. I would highly encourage families to take part in these exciting opportunities.

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston offers free weekends for kids with a public library card. Any child, age 6 to 18, who shows a Harris County Public Library Card or any other Public Library Card is admitted free to the MFAH on Saturdays and Sundays.
Notes
Ditto sheets should not be used for art projects. It is best when projects are open ended so that children can express their own creativity.
