Craft
Plate Spider Web
(Great for practicing lacing!)

Paper plates
Yarn or string
Spider rings

(Preperation)
1. Use a hole puncher to punch holes in a circle about 1 - 1 1/2 inches around the edge of the plate.

2.Cut yarn or string to about a yard in length and put a piece of tape on one end to make it easier to put through the holes.

3. You can also cut a smaller piece of string to make a loop for the plate to hang by after finishing.

(For Storytime)
Each child is given a plate and a piece of string. They can start at any hole and criss cross them across the plate in any way they want to create a spider web. Randomly chosen holes actually make the web look more spider like as long as most of the yarn ends up on the front of the plate.

When the kids are finished they can tie off the two ends, add the smaller loop to hang it by, and hook their spider (ring part) anywhere on the web they want!

You can use any combination of colored plates, yarn, and rings for this craft that you like! The more colorful the better!
