Songs
Slippery, Slithery Snake
I saw a slippery, slithery snake,
(Hold up index finger)
Slide through the grasses, making
them shake.
(Weave index finger through
wiggling fingers of other hand)
He looked at me with his beady eyes,
(Circle eyes with fingers)
"Go away from my pretty garden" said I
(Make shooing motions with hands)
"Sssssss" said the slippery, slithery
snake,
As he slid through the grasses making
them shake.
(Weave index finger through
wiggling fingers of other
hand)
The Little Snake
Slithering, sliding, slinking,
(place palms together and wiggle
hands and arms)
Comes the little snake.
In and out goes her tongue
(make tongue go in and out)
What a great pet she would make!
I'm Being Eaten By a Boa Constrictor by Shel Silverstein
Oh, I'm being eaten
By a boa constrictor,
A boa constrictor,
A boa constrictor,
I'm being eaten by a boa constrictor,
And I don't like it--one bit.

Well, what do you know?
It's nibblin' my toe.

Oh, gee,
It's up to my knee.

Oh my,
It's up to my thigh.

Oh, fiddle,
It's up to my middle.

Oh, heck,
It's up to my neck.

Oh, dread,
It's upmmmmmmmmmmffffffffff . . .

Craft
The Freeman Branch has a die-cut that is just a simple spiral (extra-large size/die name is Spiral) that makes the perfect curling snake thats lots of fun as it tends to wiggle - a lot. Cut them out of your choice of colors then let the kids decorate with crayons, markers, stickers...whatever is handy. (It's a great way to use up some odds-n-ends in your craft closet)
