Five Red Apples
[fingerplay or use apples with glove puppet]
Five red apples in a grocery store;
Bobby bought 1, then there were 4.
Four red apples on an apple tree;
Susie ate 1 and that left 3.
Three red apples. What did Alice do?
She ate 1 and that left 2.
Two red apples ripening in the sun;
Jimmy ate another and that lef 1.
One red apple and now we are done;
I ate the last one. Now there are none.
Apple Tree
[activity]
Away up high in an apple tree [reach up]
Two red apples smiled at me.
I shook that tree as hard as I could [make fists & pretend to shake something]
Down came the apples -
[rub tummy]Mmmm - they were good.
Raking Leaves
[activity]
I rake the leaves [motion of raking]
When they fall down [raise arms & let fingers fall gradually]
In a great big pile [spread arms to indicate wide pile]
And when there are enough of them,
I jump on them awhile. [jump several times]

Rainy Day
[activity - do motions as indicated]
Slip on your raincoat
Pull on your galoshes
Jumping in puddles
Making splishes and sploshes !
Rain on Green Grass
[cut & tell activity rhyme-Pattern]

Rain on the green grass
Rain on the tree.
Rain on the housetop, But not on me. Why not?
[unfold cut out shape] Because I have an umbrella
Craft
Die cut leaf shapes and have children paste them onto construction paper.
Other
Gather actual leaves. Using crayons over white paper, have children make leaf rubbings.
