What Santa Can't Do by:Douglas Wood
What can't Santa do? Lots of things!
He can never buy enough reindeer biscuits.
He can't wait to try out the new toys.
He can't stop smiling.
And, just like you and me,
Santa can't wait for...well, you'll see!
How Santa Got His Job by:Stephen Krensky
When Santa was young and needed a job, no one was looking for a man in a red suit to deliver gifts on Christmas. So Santa tried just about everything from a chimney sweep to a postman to a circus performer. But none of these worked out. It wasn't until he met a group of elves who helped him use all his special talents, that Santa was able to find his dream job.
Santa tries his hand at many jobs before finding the perfect job as the world's greatest gift giver.
Songs
The Chimney
Here is the chimney (make a fist)
Here is the top (other hand over fist)
Open the lid (remove hand)
Out Santa will pop! (pop out thumb)
Jingle Bells
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh - hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh
My Stocking
When Santa fills my stocking (pretend to fill stocking)
I wish that I could peek (peek through fingers)
But Santa never ever comes (shake head)
Until I'm fast asleep (rest cheek on folded hands)
Craft
Use the stocking die-cut on Harriet and have children lace and decorate them.

OR

Use the small hand die-cut on Harriet to make a Christmas tree. Have the children put it together on construction paper and decorate.
