When a girl brings home an octopus and wants to keep him as a pet, her daddy reminds her of the crocodile, seals, and other inappropriate animals she has already brought into the house to create chaos.

Mayhem ensues when when a little girl takes unusual pets like a rhinoceros and a kangaroo to places usually reserved for people.
Not Norman: A goldfish story by:Bennett, Kelly
As a boy attempts to convince someone else to take his disappointing pet, he learns to love Norman the goldfish himself.
Love, love, love your pets
(to the tune of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat")

Love, love, love your pets
Love them everyday!
Give them food and water too
And let them run and play!

Fred and his fishes
Fred had a fish bowl (form shape of bowl with hands)
In it was a fish (hold up one finger)
Swimming around (make swimming motions)
With a swish, swish, swish!

Fred said, "I know what I'll do.
I'll buy another and that will make __." (hold up 2 fingers)

Fred said, "I'm sure it would be
Very, very nice if I just had __." (hold up 3 fingers)

Fred said, "If I just had one more That would make one, two, three, __."
(hold up 4 fingers)

Fred said, "What fun to see them dive. One, two, three, four, __." (hold up 5 fingers)

How many fish do you see?
How many fishes? Count them with me!
(count all 5 fingers)

Make bowls and fish out of paper (I made all different types of fish, even sharks, in every color). Decorate bowls with crayons/markers, use glitter for sand and tissue paper for plant life. Encourage children to add anything they like to their fishbowl, such as a submarine, turtle, etc.

Fred and his Fishes works well as a felt board.
