Three Little Kittens

Three little kittens lost their mittens
And they began to cry.
Oh Mother, dear, see here, see here,
Our mittens we have lost.
What! Lost your mittens, you naughty kittens,
Now you shall have no pie.
Meow, meow, meow, meow,
Now you shall have no pie.

Three little kittens found their mittens,
And they began to sigh.
Oh Mother, dear, see here, see here,
Our mittens we have found.
What! Found your mittens, you darling kittens,
Now you shall have some pie.
Meow, meow, meow, meow,
Now you shall have some pie.

From I?m a Little Teapot, Jane Cobb, p. 204
For a craft I printed and cut out the animal templates from the story ?The Mitten?, by Jan Brett. I also printed and cut out a front and back mitten. Line the two mittens up together, and using a paper hole punch, punch holes all long the outer edges of the mitten. Cut a 36 inch piece of yarn. The child will use the yarn to lace up the front and back of the mitten. They can place the animals inside the mitten to recreate the story.
