The Mouse Ran Around the Room (To the tune of: The Bear Went Over the Mountain
The mouse ran around the room,
The mouse ran around the room,
The mouse ran around the room,
And what do you think he saw?

He saw a great big cat,
He saw a great big cat,
He saw a great big cat,
So what do you think he did?

The mouse ran into his hole,
The mouse ran into his hole,
The mouse ran into his hole,
Safe and sound at last.
There Was a Little Quiet Mouse
There was a little quiet mouse
(hold out fist with index finger extended)
And he lived in a hole
(insert index finger into other fist)
When everything was quiet as can be, as quiet as can be,
Shhhh! Shhhh! Shhhh!
(Finger to mouth)
Out popped he!
(Throw arms and hands apart)

Five Little Mice
Five little mice on the pantry floor,
(Wiggle fingers all around)
This little mouse peeked behind the door,
(Peep out from under hand)
This little mouse nibbled at the cake,
(Nibbling cake motions)
This little mouse not a sound did make,
(Finger to mouth)
This little mouse heard the kitten sneeze
"Ah Choo," sneezed the kitten,
(yell Ah Choo)
And, "Squeak," they all cried
(yell Squeak)
And they found a hold and hurried inside!
(make hole with on hand and run fingers of other hand to "hole")

Five Little Mice
Five little mice came out to play
Gathering crumbs along the way
Out came the pussycat, big and fat
Four little mice go scampering back

(continue until there are no more mice)

Mouse Finger Puppet made from construction paper and yarn.

Fold paper into quarters. Fold a quarter in half. Draw a curving line from the left corner of the folded side up to the right corner about 2.5" up from the fold. Cut on the curved line. Glue curved edges together leaving the straight side open (for fingers). Punch hole near the top corner for the tail (piece of yarn) to go in. Add googly eyes or draw your own. Draw a nose or add a pompom. Add two pink circles for the ears with some of the ear sticking out from the mouse's body.

I added a 2" X 1 1/2" block of cheese (yellow construction paper) which the mom's assisted the child in punching out holds to make it Swiss cheese). We then used the cheese as a prop to feed to our mice.
