Songs
Snap!
Crocodile has bumpy skin.
(Turn around and wriggle your back)
Her legs are strong,
(Flex muscles with back still turned)
Cause she likes to swim!
(Swimming motions)
Underwater she sets her trap,
(Crouch with arms together like a mouth)
And waits… and waits…
(Shush, until everyone is still and quiet)
And then goes snap!
(Jump up quickly and clap hands with a loud slap)
Five Little Crocodiles
Five little crocodiles dancing 'round a tree,
Teasing Mr. Monkey, “You can’t catch me!”
Then Mr. Monkey lets a coconut drop, and POP!
(Pop the top of your head and pretend to swoon)
Four little crocodiles dancing 'round a tree, (etc.)
Continue until there’s…
No little crocodiles dancing 'round a tree,
Teasing Mr. Monkey, “You can’t catch me!”
Down comes Mr. Monkey with a great big grin
Picks up all his coconuts in time to play again!
Notes
A crocodile puppet would be perfect for introducing this story-time.
