Once I Caught a Fish Alive
One, two, three, four, five,
(Count off on one hand)
Once I caught a fish alive.
(Flop one hand like a fish out of water)
Six, seven, eight, nine, ten,
(Count off on the other hand)
Then I threw it back again.
(Pretend to throw back)
Why did I let it go?
(Questioning expression)
Because it bit my finger so!
(Shake hand in apparent pain)
Which one did it bite?
(Questioning expression)
This little finger on the right.
(Point to pinky finger)
Fish! Fish! Fish!
I walk on down to the brook, brook, brook
(walk pretending to carry fishing pole over one shoulder)
Put a worm upon my hook, hook, hook
(wiggle finger and pretend to hook with other hand)
Cast it out with a swish, swish, swish
(Make casting motions)
Until I catch a fish, fish, fish!
(yank and reel rod as if a fish is on the line)
