You can also use the story "Mouse Count" by Walsh. We use this as a counting activity by having the snake catch 10 mice and throw them in a jar for eating later. Of course, the mice all escape by tipping the jar over and making a getaway one by one, allowing you to count down from 10 thru zero. The kids love it!

Props needed: 10 toy mice, large jar that mice will fit in, large toy snake
